The rate is $250 per clinical hour (and direct billing is available for those with Bluecross coverage).
Unfortunately, at this time, psychological services in private practices are not covered by Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). However, many clients have access to Extended Health Benefits through their employment and private health insurance plans, which provide full or partial coverage for services provided by a registered psychologist.
Dr. Bolton is also a registered provider for WSIB, VAC, PCVRS, CAF, Greenshield and Blue Cross networks.
*If you are unable to fund care through private practice, we can suggest community and self-care resources.
*Furthermore, we can work with a client’s budget to space out sessions, and complement treatment with home exercises and resources to aid in your recovery.
If you are planning on receiving reimbursement for psychological services, here are some questions for consideration:
1. To ensure reimbursement, does your referral need to be provided first by your physician, or can you self-refer for services?
2. What types of psychological services are covered by your insurance policy (re: assessment, treatment)?
3. What is the amount of coverage allotted per calendar year, per employee (set amount per session, total amount, or portion of fee per visit)?
4. Do you need to obtain a receipt from an Ontario Registered Psychologist- This would be provided to you directly following the services rendered
5. What is the procedure for reimbursement?

The price will vary depending on the nature of the request/ and training requested (for example: psychoeducational vs. ongoing consultation and organizational supports).
